Wedding cakes are beautiful, and also really expensive. And let's face it, gorgeous or not, the most important factors fall somewhere between cake and frosting. I want a delicious cake, first and foremost. Even when designing my own wedding cake, I felt oddly uninspired. There were so many stunning options but the choices were overwhelming. In the end, we went for a white frosted hand-piped cake with fresh flowers covering the top of the cake: simple and pretty ... and most importantly, yummy. These adorable DIY cake decorations are meant to spruce up even the simplest of cakes (and side note: store bought birthday/wedding cake may be one of the most delicious inventions of all time. I kid you not.)
